Alter Ego
The Alter Ego project involved designing an alternate version of myself, and exploring how this character would feel, interact, and grow. As a big city person who grew up adoring Indiana Jones and the crew from The Goonies, my alter ego is an adventurer who departs from her city life to spend some time in the wilderness.
Lilith’s four outfit designs, from left to right: Traveler’s outfit, Winter outfit, Nighttime outfit, and Summer outfit.
Lilith's fashion mirrors my own style, featuring loose, flowing shirts and pants, layered outfits, and a muted color palette that reflects my personal wardrobe. Her look was adapted to suit her wild environment, emphasizing protection, utility, and mobility. Lilith's fashion, eye patch, and snake companion are all elements inspired by my own life, reimagined to fit her new reality.
Lilith stands by her suitcase, dressed in her usual city clothes. She feels a mix of nervousness and excitement, ready to begin her big adventure!
Equipped with new gear, Lilith begins her journey into the wilderness. She tries to familiarize herself with her new environment, but there’s a lot to discover that Lilith’s untrained eye has yet to capture.
With every new day, the wilderness reveals to Lilith new paths and slowly her journey becomes less lonesome.
Through sun and rain, Lilith races around the forest, her clothes covered in mud and leaves. She laughs as she explores, meeting new animal friends and discovering the wonders of the wild with every step.
As winter arrives, turning the forest into a snowy wonderland, Lilith discovers new creatures—big and shy—hiding among the sparkling snow.
Inside her cozy home, Lilith finds peace like never before, spending quiet moments meditating and thinking. Her snake companion is always close by, keeping her company.
In the early mornings and late evenings, Lilith basks in the warm sunlight that fills her little home. Around her, she gathers photos and notes from her adventures, slowly building a new life filled with memories and joy.
As happy and exciting her new life is, there are days where Lilith feels lonely and misses the familiar comfort of back home in the city. Sometimes the wilderness is tough and some creatures aren’t friendly, causing Lilith to be covered in injuries and dirt and having to patch herself up. Despite this, she is determined to accept and love every aspect of her life, even the rough days.
After spending so much time in the wilderness, Lilith returns to the city to visit her family. But when she arrives, the noisy crowds, busy streets, and lack of nature make her head ache. She realizes she’s changed so much that the city no longer feels like home.
